I was out sick yesterday and my boss text me at least 3x to find out what my status was. I slept all day or at least tried to, because in my subconcious mind my instinctive reaction was check my phone to see if my boss had called or if he texted me. Why? I should have shut my phone off completely but instead I didn't get the rest that I should've because he wouldn't leave me alone. So today I'm at work, still sick, and angry!
Basically it makes me feel as if he doesn't believe me if he keeps trying to contact me........I despise this:(

It does show that you are needed and missed. There are many who go on a sick day and the boss wishes that they take more than a day. Your boss contacting you may have more to do with whether you are on salary or paid hourly. If you are on salary then the boss has license to contact. If you are hourly, there is a problem.
